Toyota Prius Grille Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How do you remove and install the grille on Toyota Prius?
A: To begin, remove the front Bumper cover, noting that on some models, access to the grille retaining clips may be possible without removing the cover. For those models, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, then reach behind the bumper cover to access the grille. For 2009 and earlier models, release the clips that retain the grille to the rear of the bumper cover, and installation is the reverse of removal. For 2010 and later models, first remove the seven clips and detach the hood seal from the top of the grille, then remove the four push-pin clips, release the 12 claw retainers, and take out the upper grille. Next, release the 16 claw retainers and push out the lower grille, with installation being the reverse of removal.
