What is the purpose of the cabin air filter in Toyota Sienna?

2004 and later models are equipped with a cabin air filter in the blower housing. The filter traps dust and pollen before the air enters the passenger compartment. For access to the cabin air filter, swing the glove box down. Pull out the filter case and lift out the filter by releasing the tabs at each end of the filter cover, then slide the filter and cover out. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
