- Q: How to remove and install the strut bar on Toyota T100?A: Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands while applying the parking brake, then remove the wheel. Next, remove the engine under cover and put alignment marks on the strut bar and rear nut to ensure correct toe is restored when the strut bar is installed. Detach the front end of the strut bar from the frame by removing the nut, washer, retainer, and rubber bushing. Then, remove the two nuts that attach the rear end of the strut bar to the lower Control Arm and disconnect the strut bar from the lower control arm. Remove the collar, the other rubber bushing, and the retainer from the strut bar, inspecting the metal bushing, washers, and rubber bushings for wear and damage, replacing them as necessary. For installation, reverse the removal process, ensuring the retainers, rubber bushings, and metal bushing are installed in the correct order, and if using a new strut bar, set its length to the specified dimension by turning the rear nut. For Tacoma models, remove the lower control arm and strut bar as an assembly, unbolt the strut bar from the lower control arm, and ensure to tighten the strut bar fasteners to the specified torque during installation.
