Toyota T100 Turn Signal Flasher Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Hazard Warning Switch and Turn Signal Flasher on Toyota T100?
A: The flasher unit on T100 models is located under the instrument panel, behind the lower left finish panel, while on Tacoma and 4Runner models, it can be found in the passenger compartment Fuse/relay block. A properly functioning flasher unit produces an audible click during operation; if turn signals fail on one side and the flasher does not click, a faulty turn signal bulb is likely. If both turn signals do not blink, the issue may stem from a blown turn signal fuse in the passenger compartment fuse box, a faulty flasher unit, a broken switch, or a loose connection. Before replacing a blown fuse, check the wiring for a short. To replace the flasher on a T100, remove the left lower finish panel and unplug the flasher, while for Tacoma or 4Runner models, simply unplug it from the passenger compartment fuse block. Ensure the replacement unit matches the original before installation, which follows the reverse of removal. For the hazard warning switch, pry it out of the dash and unplug it, then use an ohmmeter to check continuity between terminals 2 and 3 for the illumination circuit, and between terminals 7 and 10 when the switch is off, as well as between terminals 5, 6, and 9, and between terminals 7 and 8 when the switch is on. If the switch does not operate correctly, it should be replaced.
