How to remove and install the throttle cable on Toyota Tacoma?

Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, ensuring you have the correct activation code for the anti-theft system if applicable. Loosen the locknut on the threaded portion of the throttle cable at the throttle body. Rotate the throttle lever and slip the throttle cable end out of the slot in the lever. Detach the throttle cable from the accelerator pedal and remove the two bolts securing the cable casing to the firewall. From inside the engine compartment, pull the cable through the firewall. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring the cable casing grommet seats properly in the firewall.
