To remove and replace the oil cooler in various engines, you need to drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter. For 1GR-FE and 2UZ-FE engines, disconnect the oil cooler hoses and remove the union bolt to separate the oil cooler from the oil filter adapter. Install a new O-ring and plate washer, then tighten the union bolt and install a new oil filter. Refill the engine with oil and the cooling system with antifreeze. For 1UR-FE, 3UR-FE, and 3UR-FBE engines, disconnect the negative battery cable and remove various components before disconnecting the oil cooler hoses and removing the oil cooler. Install new gaskets and O-rings, and refill the engine and cooling system. Check for leaks and proper function.
