The security and operation of all hinges, latches, and locks should be checked and adjusted if needed.

1. Remove the lock as described previously in this section. 2. Remove the single bolt securing the lock barrel assembly to the tailgate. (Remove the lock barrel mounting bolt). 3. Twist the lock barrel assembly to release it from the tailgate, then unhook it from the actuator lever (central locking models only) and remove it. 4. If required, the lock barrel can be removed from its mounting sleeve by releasing the large circlip and taking out the pushbutton spring. (Use circlip pliers to release the large circlip, then extract the pushbutton spring and pull out the lock barrel). 5. The lock barrel trim can now be unclipped from the outside of the tailgate and removed. (If required, the lock barrel trim can be unclipped from the tailgate).
