    To adjust the parking brake, start by pulling the parking brake lever all the way up and counting the number of notches it travels. Compare this number to the specifications provided. If it is incorrect, the parking brake needs to be adjusted. Before adjusting, make sure that the rear brake shoe clearance has been adjusted. Next, remove the console or trim around the parking brake lever. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting nut until the travel of the lever is correct. Remove the lock and adjusting nuts to free the Parking Brake Cable from the lever. Finally, tighten the locknut and replace the console or trim.
