Again there is a timing system and any mistake can lead to severe damage of the engines, if one is not sure of something, it is recommended that one seeks advice from those who know and verifies this work before starting the engines. First, remove the cable from the negative terminal of the battery and make sure the rear wheels are chocked, the parking brake engaged and the front of the car is well supported on jackstands. If fitted, snap off the shield located at the front of the car at the engine bay and let all the engine coolant seep out. Loosen the air conditioning compressor from the refrigerant lines but do not disconnect the latter and place it securely. Lower the vehicle and disconnect the power steering pump but not the hoses; remove the alternator, the engine cooling fan, the fan shroud, spark plugs, and the drivebelt. Take off the valve cover and make the number one piston be at TDC on the compression stroke. Next, the drivebelt tensioner assembly, the idler pulleys, and brackets have to be removed, then the camshaft position sensor and the crankshaft position sensor. Using a pin spanner or chain wrench, slacken the crankshaft pulley bolt and take out the crankshaft pulley. Take off any parts that hinder the timing cover, next, in order to take out the timing cover, use a socket wrench in order to remove the bolts holding the cover. Take off the upper timing chain guide and adjust the tensioner of the timing chain. Ensure sprocket teeth, chain, and guides are in good condition and replace any worn component. Ensure the timing chain tensioners are properly functioning, and check the stretch of the timing chains and replace if when necessary. Bolt the balance shaft chain onto the sprocket of the crankshaft and the left balance shaft sprocket in such a manner that the marked links are engaged, then tighten the tensioner and fit the left side guide shoe and the vibration damper. Place the crankshaft sprocket, left-side chain guide, and the camshaft timing chain making sure they form the correct marks. Wash the timing chain area with clean compressed air, and put RTV sealant on the timing cover before fixing it in position on the engine block in such a way that the oil pump drive rotor clicks into place. Torque all the remaining nuts and bolts in a clockwise direction and rotary in the correct sequence, replace all the other components back in reverse, change the engine oil and filter, add coolant to the cooling system, and the last is, start the vehicle to see if there are any leaks or if it has a proper function.
