Replace any damaged wires with a pre-cut set for your engine model. Check the distributor cap for cracks and worn contacts, and the rotor for cracks. Replace if damaged. Measure resistance between wires and cap; replace if it exceeds the maximum value. When installing a new cap, transfer wires one at a time.
