To remove the front bumper cover, begin by applying the parking brake, raising the front of the vehicle, and securely supporting it on jackstands. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the auxiliary 12-volt battery, ensuring to perform the initialization procedure upon reconnection. For 2001 through 2003 models, remove the engine bottom covers and lower chin spoiler if needed for access, disconnect the wiring from the side marker lamps, and detach the screws or pushpins securing the bumper cover. Use a small screwdriver to pop the center button up on the plastic fasteners without removing the center buttons. If replacing the bumper beam, remove the nuts and pull the beam off its mounts, then install the new cover in reverse order, ensuring the tabs fit into the corresponding clips. For 2004 through 2009 models, remove the screws from the inner fender liners, bolts at each corner of the bumper cover, engine bottom cover, front chin spoiler, and upper grille protector, then detach the clips and claw-type clips at the upper part of the bumper cover. Pull up on the lower part while holding the upper part lightly to release the remaining retainers and disconnect the fog lamp wiring. For 2010 and later models, remove the push-pin clips from the radiator cover, turn the heads of the pins in the wheel wells, and remove the screws, bolts, and clips from the bumper cover edges. If applicable, remove the front spoiler and use a plastic trim tool to release the claws at each end of the bumper cover, disconnect the wiring and headlight washer hose, and pull the bumper cover forward to remove it. For the rear bumper cover on 2001 through 2003 models, remove the auxiliary battery, luggage compartment floor components, and cover plate, then access the fasteners by removing the housing for the right warning reflector. Remove the screws from the bottom and nuts from the bumper cover studs, then lift the cover carefully. For 2004 and later models, remove the screws and nuts from the corners and bottom of the bumper cover, detach the stoppers from the upper part, and release the claw retainers at each upper end while holding the cover tightly to pull it rearward and upward. Installation for both front and rear covers is the reverse of removal.
