To remove the front bumper on 2006 and earlier models, first apply the parking brake, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Disconnect the negative battery cable followed by the positive battery cable, then wait two minutes before proceeding. Remove the radiator grille, detach the screws securing the top, bottom, and sides of the bumper cover, and remove the plastic pins and bolts securing the front bumper fascia. Use a small screwdriver to pop the center button up on the plastic fasteners without removing the center buttons. For installation, reverse the removal steps, ensuring the tabs on the back of the bumper cover fit into the corresponding clips on the body before attaching the bolts and screws, with an assistant's help being beneficial. For 2007 and later models, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Detach the front fender inner splash shields from the bumper cover by removing the screws, then remove the screws from the lower edge of the bumper cover to separate it from the lower engine splash shield. Open the hood and remove the clips at the center upper section of the bumper cover, apply tape to the fenders to protect them from scratches, and with an assistant, use a screwdriver wrapped with tape to carefully release the clips at each end of the bumper while disconnecting any wiring as it is removed. For the rear bumper on 2006 and earlier models, work under the vehicle to detach the plastic clips and screws securing the lower edge of the bumper cover, remove the fasteners securing the bumper cover to the rear quarter panel, and open the liftgate to remove the clips or pins securing the upper edge of the bumper cover before pulling it out and away from the vehicle. For 2007 and later models, remove the fasteners connecting the inner fender splash shields to the rear bumper cover, remove the clips from each end of the lower edge of the bumper cover, open the hatch to remove the clips and screws from the top edge of the bumper, apply tape to the quarter panels for protection, and with assistance, carefully release the clips at each end of the bumper to pull it forward for removal, with installation being the reverse of removal.
