Disconnect the negative cable at the battery, ensuring to check for any anti-theft system associated with the stereo before detaching the cable. Next, remove the steering wheel and then take off the lower finish panel along with the steering column cover. After that, remove the single retaining screw located at the rear of the switch and unclip the electrical connector to disconnect it from the ignition switch. With the key in the Accessory position, insert a pin into the hole in the casting, pull the Ignition Lock Cylinder straight out, and remove it from the steering column. Finally, installation is the reverse of the removal process.

To remove the door trim panel and water deflector, first disconnect the links from the Door Handle,Door Latch Assembly and Door Lock Cylinder, and remove the mounting bolts. If there are power door connectors, disconnect them along with their bolt. Remove the lock retaining screws or bolts from the end of the door. Detach the door lock and, if present, the door lock solenoid. To remove the lock cylinder and outside handle, disconnect the control link and electrical connector, remove the outside handle retention bolts, and pull the handle and lock cylinder from the door. On late model vehicles, pry off the retaining clip to separate the lock cylinder from the handle, while on earlier models, remove the retention bolt. For the inside handle, remove the retaining screws or bolts and disconnect the link(s) from the inside handle control. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal.
