1. Remove the fuel tank cap to relieve the fuel tank pressure. 2. Detach the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. (Caution: If the stereo has an anti-theft system, refer to the manual before detaching the cable.) 3. Detach the accelerator cable from the throttle linkage and from its bracket on the air intake chamber. 4. Detach the vacuum sensing hose from the fuel pressure regulator. 5. Unplug the cold start injector electrical connector and remove the cold start injector pipe bolt. 6. Unplug the four fuel injector electrical connectors and set the injector wire harness aside. 7. Disconnect the fuel lines from the pulsation damper and the fuel rail. 8. Remove the two fuel rail mounting bolts and detach the fuel rail/injector assembly from the cylinder head. 9. Remove the fuel rail and the fuel injectors from the fuel rail. 10. Remove the four fuel rail insulators from the cylinder head. 11. If replacing the injector(s), discard the old injector, grommet, and O-ring. If only replacing leaking O-rings, remove and discard the old ones. 12. Further testing of the injector(s) is beyond the scope of the home mechanic. If in doubt, it can be bench tested for volume and leakage at a dealer service department. 13. Installation of the fuel injectors is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use new grommets and O-rings on the injector(s).
