    Remove the engine cover(s). Relieve the fuel pressure. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Disconnect the fuel line connector where it joins the pipe from the Fuel Pump Pulsator at the end of the fuel rail. Remove the air filter housing. For four-cylinder models, remove the two damper mounting bolts at the fuel rail and the damper. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to install a new O-ring and tighten the bolts. For V6 models, remove the upper intake manifold. Disconnect the vacuum line to the damper. Pull the locking clip out from the base of the damper and separate the damper from the fuel rail. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to install a new O-ring onto the damper. Remove the old O-ring from the Fuel Pump Pulsator and replace it.

Then, take out the sub-tank from the fuel pump assembly. Twist the fuel pressure regulator from the assembly, ensuring that the O-ring comes out with it. It might be necessary to use a screwdriver to pry the pressure regulator from the filter assembly. When reinstalling, follow the reverse order of the removal process and make sure to install a new O-ring(s) on the fuel pressure regulator.
