    Q:
How do you access the cabin air filter in the Toyota Prius? Posted by Customer
    A:
The covered models come equipped with a cabin air filter located in the blower housing, which functions to trap dust and pollen before the air enters the passenger compartment. To access this filter, the glove box needs to be swung down. For models from 2001 through 2003, this involves rotating and pulling out the pins on each inner wall of the glove box. For models from 2004 and onwards, the damper needs to be disconnected from the right side of the open glove box, then both sides need to be pushed inward to lower the door. The glove box door supports must be pried off of their pins to fully lower the door, or the glove box door can be removed by lowering it fully. The filter case can then be pulled out and the filter lifted out by releasing the tabs at each end of the filter and sliding the filter rearward. The installation process is simply the reverse of the removal procedure.
