    Q:
What is the location and function of the turn signal and hazard flasher unit on 2002 through 2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Turn Signal Flasher is a single combination unit, located in an electrical center behind the left kick panel. When functioning properly, an audible click can be heard during its operation. If the turn signals fail on one side and the flasher unit doesn't make its characteristic clicking sound, or if one bulb flashes faster than normal while the other end of the vehicle on the same side doesn't light at all, a faulty turn signal bulb may be the issue. If both turn signals fail to blink, it could be due to a blown fuse, a faulty flasher unit, a defective switch, or a loose/open connection. Before replacing a blown fuse, check for any wiring shorts. To replace the flasher, disconnect the electrical connector and remove it from the electrical center. Ensure the replacement unit is identical to the original before installing it. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
What is the function and troubleshooting process for the turn signal and hazard flasher unit on Toyota Matrix? Posted by Customer
    A:
The turn signal and hazard flasher is combined and situated at the interior fuse/relay box category of the Cherokee. During its smooth working, there is a click sound produced at the time of operation of the device. If for instance the turn signals fail on one side while the flasher unit does not click, or if in one side the bulb is flashing faster that usual but on the same side the bulb does not light, then that could mean that there is probably a faulty turn signal bulb. If neither of the turn signals blinks the problem could be a bad flasher unit, a bad turn signal switch, bad turn signal switch, or the flasher is not getting power. Turn signal fuse blown is very easy to diagnose by checking at the fuse box; however before installing a new turn signal fuse, the wiring should be checked for a short. Changing the flasher involves disconnecting the electrical connector and removing the unit from the electrical center; then, the replacement unit has to be an exact match for the old one: before installing the replacement, detailed comparison of the new and the old units is to be conducted; the replacement process is done in the reverse to the removal process.
