Before performing the tests on the Fuel Level Sensor, determine the actual fuel level in the fuel tank. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle and then take out the fuel pump/Fuel Level Sensor from the fuel tank, noting that T100 models have a separate Fuel Level Sensor assembly mounted in the fuel tank. Position the ohmmeter probes on the connector terminals to check for resistance using the 200-ohm scale. Measure the resistance of the sensor with the float arm completely down (tank empty) and with the arm up (tank full), ensuring the resistance changes steadily from empty to full. When the tank is nearly empty, the resistance should be approximately 110 ohms, and with the fuel tank completely full, it should be around 3 ohms. If the readings are incorrect, replace the sensor by carefully angling it out of the opening without damaging the fuel level float at the bottom of the assembly. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the sensor, remove the screw from the side of the sensor bracket, and separate the sensor from the assembly. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
