Toyota 13523-75030 Gear Or Sprocket, Camshaft Timing

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. 2. Drain the engine oil and coolant. 3. Remove the battery. 4. Remove the engine cover. 5. Remove the air filter housing. 6. Remove the cooling fan and radiator. 7. Remove the drivebelt. 8. Remove the upper intake manifold. 9. Remove the spark plugs and valve covers. 10. Remove the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) sensor. 11. Remove the dipstick and dipstick tube. 12. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch and detach the power steering pump. 13. Remove the alternator. 14. Detach the air conditioning compressor. 15. Unbolt the drivebelt tensioner. 16. Remove the idler pulley bolts and idler pulleys. 17. Remove the crankshaft pulley. 18. Remove the timing cover bolts and the water inlet. 19. Remove the timing chain cover and the old crankshaft seal. 20. Bring the piston in the No. 1 cylinder to TDC on its compression stroke. 21. Lock the No. 1 tensioner and remove it. 22. Remove the chain tensioner slipper and idler sprocket shaft. 23. Remove the two chain vibration dampers. 24. Remove the No. 1 timing chain.
