    A:
To replace the MAF/IMT sensor, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, remove the sensor mounting screws and extract the sensor from the air filter housing. For installation, reverse the removal process.

    Q:
How to replace and test the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor on Toyota Rav4? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor, key off the ignition, position the vehicle, find the sensor on the air filter housing, pull the connector off, loosen the two screws holding the sensor plus O-ring and remove the whole unit. The installation process is carried out in a backward sequence to the removal process while paying attention to the state of the O-ring, which should be replaced as and when it is damaged. For testing, handle the bottom end of the sensor and check if there is an accumulation of dirt or substances clinging at its end, and clean with aerosol MAF sensor cleaner or electronics-safe cleaner only if one is present. After full dismantling of the sensor, provide connection of DVOM with the sensor's terminals 1 and 2 only in order to measure the resistance. When the temperature is at -4 degrees F, resistance should ideally fall between 13,600 and 18,400 ohms, at 68 degree F, should ideally be between 2,210 and 2,690 ohms while at 140 degree F with an installed sensor, the resistance should ideally be between 490 and 670 ohms.

    Q:
What is the first step to take before working on the MAF sensor for the 2007 Toyota Prius? Posted by Customer
    A:
Make sure the ignition key is in the OFF position or the Power switch is turned OFF, and disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the auxiliary 12-volt battery.
