    Q:
How do you remove and install outside mirrors and inside mirrors on 1997 through 2001 Toyota Solara? Posted by Customer
    A:
For outside mirror removal on power mirror-equipped models, start by removing the door trim panel and the plastic water shield. Pry off the mirror trim cover on the inside of the door. Disconnect the electrical connector from the mirror (if equipped). Remove the three mirror retaining bolts and detach the mirror from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal. For inside mirror removal, gently pry between the mirror mount and the notch in the base of the mirror stalk using a screwdriver tip covered with tape. A hairpin-type spring holds the mirror stalk in the base. Push the screwdriver in about 1/16 inch to release the spring. To install the mirror, reinsert the spring if it was removed earlier. Insert the mirror stalk's lug into the mount, pushing downward until the mirror is secured. If the mounting plate itself has come off the windshield, adhesive kits are available to resecure it. Follow the instructions included with the kit. Please note that the information provided is a summary of the removal and installation steps for mirrors. Actual procedures may vary depending on the specific vehicle model and year. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual or consult a professional mechanic for detailed and accurate instructions.
