Follow these steps: 1. Wash the brakes with brake cleaner before disassembling anything. 2. Remove the caliper lower mounting bolt while holding the caliper pin with an open-end wrench. 3. Swing the caliper up and secure it with a bent piece of coat hanger or wire. 4. Remove the inner pad and the outer pad. 5. Lift out the support springs. 6. Clean and lubricate the caliper pin with brake grease, then reinstall it. 7. Coat the backs of the new pads with a thin layer of brake grease. 8. Clean the shims and install them on the new pads. 9. Install the pad support springs. 10. Ensure the pad surfaces are clean before installing the inner and outer pads. 11. Compress the piston to the bottom of its bore with a large C-clamp. 12. Swing the caliper down into place, then install and tighten the lower mounting bolt to the torque.
