To remove the oil pans, first disconnect the negative cable from the battery, ensuring you have the anti-theft activation code if applicable. Set the parking brake, block the rear wheels, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. If present, remove the engine protector plate under the engine, drain the engine oil, and remove the oil filter and dipstick. Next, remove the front stabilizer bar, the nuts and bolts connecting the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold and rear exhaust system, and then take out the exhaust assembly. Remove the oil level sensor from the engine block and inspect it. Proceed to remove the bolts around the perimeter of the number 2 oil pan, carefully prying it loose without damaging the aluminum or steel flanges. Repeat this for the number 1 oil pan, breaking the gasket seal as needed, and angle the oil pan down and away from the front stabilizer bar for clearance. Unbolt and remove the pick-up tube/oil strainer assembly for cleaning. For installation, scrape off old gasket material and clean the mating surfaces, ensuring the threaded bolt holes are clean and the oil pan flanges are not distorted. Inspect the oil pump pick-up tube assembly and install it, along with a new gasket for the oil level sensor assembly. Install a new O-ring in the timing chain cover, apply RTV sealant to the oil pan flanges, position the oil pans on the engine block, and install the bolts, tightening them in steps. Complete the installation by reversing the removal steps, adding oil, installing a new oil filter, and using new gaskets/seals on the front exhaust pipe. Finally, run the engine to check for oil pressure and leaks.

Reconnect the negative battery cable.
