Note: This step is unnecessary if the oil pump isn't being removed. 4. Remove the oil dipstick tube from the engine. 5. Remove the oil filter, oil cooler, and oil filter bracket assembly from the engine. 6. Remove the bolts and nuts securing the lower steel oil pan and detach it, using a small screwdriver or putty knife if necessary. 7. Remove the baffle plate from the bottom of the engine. 8. Remove the bolts and nuts securing the upper oil pan to the engine block and detach it, using a small screwdriver or putty knife if necessary. 9. Remove the oil pump strainer.
