To remove and replace the fuel injectors, start by relieving the fuel system pressure and disconnecting the negative battery cable. For V6 models, remove the engine cover and air filter housing, drain the engine coolant, and remove the intake manifold. Disconnect the vacuum signal hose from the fuel pressure regulator and remove the clamps from the fuel supply and return line quick-connect fittings. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and remove the fuel rail mounting bolts. Remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly, then remove the injectors from the fuel rail and discard the O-rings and insulators. Coat each new injector O-ring and insulator with clean engine oil and install them on each injector. For four-cylinder models, remove the intake air connector and throttle body. Disconnect the fuel supply and return lines, disengage the engine harness clamps, and disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and pull up on the fuel rail to remove it along with the injectors. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolt spacers and injector spacers. Remove each injector from the fuel rail and discard the O-rings and vibration insulators. Apply a light coat of clean engine oil to each new injector O-ring and install them into the injectors. Coat the O-rings and injector bores in the fuel rail with engine oil and insert the injectors into the fuel rail. Install new injector vibration insulators and O-rings onto the injectors. Apply a light coat of engine oil to new O-rings for each spacer and install them into the injector bores in the cylinder head. Install the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly, tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts, and check for leaks.
