In order to safely and effectively remove the tie-rod end, the following should be done; loosen the wheel lug nuts and the front wheel should be raised a little then the front side of the car should be lifted using the jack and place the car on to the jack stands and block the rear wheels, apply the parking break before finally removing the front wheel. Then, grasp the tie-rod with locking pliers or wrench and unscrew the jam nut to match the tip of the tie-rod against the marking to enable the new tie-rod end to be threaded by the same number of turns. Take out the cotter pin and slacken the nut on the tie-rod end stud and take off the tie-rod from the knuckle arm using a puller and after taking out the nut, the rod and the knuckle arm can be separated. Loosen the nut on the tie-rod to thereby loosen the tie-rod end from the tie-rod. To install the tie-rod end, pass the threaded end through the marked position and fix the tie-rod stud into the steering knuckle arm then use the jam nut to lock it In place. Place the castle nut on the stud, and tighten it to the correct torque; replace the cotter pin also with a new one. Last, put back the wheel and the lug nuts, drop the vehicle and then over-tighten the lug nuts to the recommended value, then take the vehicle for alignment to either a dealer's service department or an alignment shop.

Tighten the lug nuts to the torque.
