    Q:
How do you remove the oil pump on Four cylinder engine on 2007 through 2015 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer

    Q:
How to remove, inspect, and install Oil Pump in V6 engine on 2005 through 2009 Toyota Tacoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before now, unscrew both of the timing chain cover mounting bolts and then uncouple the coupling of the oil pipe that is mounted between the timing chain cover and the block and get rid of the two worn out oil pipe O-rings. After that, use a spanner while holding the oil pump with another hand to loosen the oil pump cover bolts and thereafter, the oil pump cover, the oil pump drive rotor and the driven rotor. Remove oil pressure relief plug, valve spring and valve from the oil pump cover. Wipe all parts with solvent and have a close look at their status: the oil relief valve should move effortlessly inside its hole. Examine the contact face of the oil pressure relief valve and the valve spring; if either of the components is defective, replace them together. By using a feeler gauge measure the following; the clearance of the driven rotor to the body, the rotor side, and the rotor tip and record the values and compare. Tap out the worn out crankshaft seal by referring to the timing chain cover, and apply multi-purpose grease or engine oil on the outer lip of the new crank seal before moulding it in. Smear the seal lip with petroleum jelly and do the same for the pump drive and driven rotors and then fit these in the timing chain cover whereby the pump marks are outward. Petroleum jelly must then be packed into the pump cavity of the motor to assist in the priming process of the pump; then the cover and the bolts will have to be secured with the correct torque. Coat the rag with clean engine oil and insert the oil pressure relief valve and spring into the pump cover and tightened the plug to the right torque tightness. Last but not least, replace the timing chain cover, and after completing the installation in the reverse sequence of the removal, pour the oil into the engine, fit the new filter and start the engine for the check the signs of leakage.
