In V6 models, the sensor is mounted outside the cover above the crankshaft pulley.

On 2GR-FKS models, raise the right side of the vehicle on jackstands, remove the left exhaust manifold, engine oil cooler hose bracket nut, and sensor shield bolts. Slide out the bracket from under the oil cooler hoses, disconnect the sensor's electrical connector, remove the sensor, and apply clean engine oil to the O-ring before reinstalling and tightening the retaining bolt securely. By following these steps, you can effectively access and work with the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensors on both four-cylinder and V6 models.

At the upper part of the timing cover, remove the bolt securing the CKP sensor harness and withdraw the harness and sensor. Disconnect the CKP sensor connector, then take out the harness with the sensor.

The first step in replacing the crankshaft position sensor is to disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

If the test results are correct, there may be an issue with the harness or the PCM, which should be diagnosed if necessary.
