    Q:
What is the Throttle Position Sensor and how do you diagnose and replace it on 1997 through 2001 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
Locate the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) on the end of the throttle shaft to check it. Verify the reference voltage located on the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Disconnect the TPS electrical connector and touch the probes of a volt meter to terminal number 1 and ground. With the ignition key turned ON, it should be 4.5 to 5.5 volts. If it is out of range or if there is no reference voltage, have the PCM checked. Next, check the TPS signal voltage. Reconnect the electrical connector to the TPS. Back pin terminals 2 and 3 of the TPS electrical connector. With the ignition key turned to ON and the throttle fully closed, the voltage should read 0.3 to 1.0 volts. Then, slowly open the throttle to increase it. If the indicated readings are below or above the specified range, replace the TPS. To remove it, make sure the ignition key is in the OFF position. Disconnect the electrical connector from the TPS. Remove the screws that retain the TPS to the throttle body and remove the TPS. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on Toyota Sienna? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Throttle Position Sensor TPS was integrated into the throttle body in the 2007 and following models and consequently should the TPS fail then the throttle body would require replacement. h, The TPS is located on the end of the throttle shaft on the throttle body and the PCM can measure its output voltage to regulate fuel delivery in proportion to the driver's demand as indicated by the throttle valve angle. A bad or poorly grounded TPS can cause surges of fuel from the injectors and poor idle as the PCM may misread changes in the throttle. Problems with the TPS circuits will set a diagnostic trouble code. For this, ensure that the ignition key is off, and remove the electrical connector in contact with the TPS, unscrew and loosen the TPS screws fixed on the throttle body and then remove the TPS. reinstallation is the process of putting back again equipment, and just as much as the process of removal has steps, installation has the steps in the opposite order.

    Q:
Can the TPS be replaced separately for the 2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
No, the TPS cannot be replaced separately. If there are issues with the throttle control motor or the TPS, the entire throttle body must be replaced.

    Q:
Can the TPS be replaced separately for the 2004 Toyota Solara? Posted by Customer
    A:
No, the TPS cannot be replaced separately. If there are issues with the throttle control motor or the TPS, the entire throttle body must be replaced.

    Q:
What is the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) in a 2000 Toyota Solara and where is it located? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) is a component that monitors the output voltage to determine fuel delivery based on throttle valve angle. It is located on the end of the throttle shaft on the throttle body.
