To adjust or replace, remove the throttle body and loosen the two sensor mounting/adjustment screws. Insert a 0.47 mm (0.0185 in) feeler gauge between the throttle stop screw and the stop lever, then connect the ohmmeter to terminals IDL and E2. Gradually turn the sensor clockwise until the ohmmeter deflects, then tighten the sensor mounting/adjustment screws. Recheck continuity between terminals IDL and E2 by inserting a 0.35 mm (0.0138 in) feeler gauge; there should be continuity, and inserting a 0.59 mm (0.0232 in) feeler gauge should show no continuity. If the TPS fails either check, it must be replaced. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring the new TPS is adjusted before installing the throttle body.
