In addition to the standard door and rear speakers, some models are equipped with tweeters for improved high-range sound. Mounted in the windshield pillar trim panels, they can be removed by prying under the edge of the tweeter with a screwdriver tip covered with tape. Pull the tweeter out and disconnect the electrical connector. Installation is the reverse of removal. Using a trim removal tool, carefully pry the speaker cover out from the instrument panel until the clips are released, taking care not to scratch the surrounding instrument panel. Remove the speaker cover, then remove the speaker mounting screws. Lift the speaker from its mounting location, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove the speaker. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, ensuring the speaker cover clips are engaged properly before pushing the panel firmly into place.
