Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the upper and lower steering column covers. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition switch by depressing the release tab and pulling off the connector. Remove the ignition switch retaining screws and detach the switch from the Ignition Lock Cylinder housing, then installation is the reverse of removal. Place the ignition key in the ACC position. If the vehicle has an immobilizer system, disconnect the electrical connector from the immobilizer module, then slide the immobilizer module and the Ignition Lock Cylinder illumination ring as a single assembly. Use an awl or punch to depress the Ignition Lock Cylinder retaining pin and remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder from the housing by ensuring the lock cylinder is in the ACC position, inserting the awl or punch into the small hole in the housing, pushing it in to depress the retaining pin, and pulling out the Ignition Lock Cylinder. To install the lock cylinder, depress the retaining pin and guide it into the housing until the retaining pin extends back into the locating hole. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. Remove the knee bolster panel and center trim panel. Using a trim tool, carefully pry the switch panel out from the instrument panel, then disconnect the electrical connector from the engine start switch and remove the switch from the back side of the panel, with installation being the reverse of removal.

Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, then remove the left-side under-dash panel. Next, remove the headlight/turn signal switch and unplug the electrical connectors from the rear of the ignition switch. Disengage the two mounting clips and detach the switch from the lock cylinder housing, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the lock cylinder, use a small screwdriver to push the locking tabs outwards on the transponder key amplifier or the key light assembly, then slide the unit off the end of the key ignition lock cylinder housing. Insert the ignition key and turn it to the ACC position, then insert a small screwdriver into the hole in the bottom of the ignition switch casting and press the release button while pulling the lock cylinder straight out, with installation again being the reverse of removal.

It is important before disconnecting any switch to make sure the battery negative lead is disconnected, and they should be moved to aside. For ignition switch and steering lock, it is necessary to first remove the shrouds of the steering column, disconnect the plug from the wiring, and declip the anti-theft immobiliser transceiver unit. Insert the ignition key and turn to position I to unlock the cylinder and then with the help of a small screwdriver, push this locking pin at the front of the lock housing and pulling the lock cylinder out. To refit, turn the assembly in the lock housing until the locking pin engages, move it to the position O with the help of the ignition key, and turn the key off. That means when dealing with the ignition switch, one ought to make sure that the steering column lock cylinder is not excised. In order to get to the headlight beam adjuster one must first take off the lid of the fuse box, the switch panel has to be popped out, wiring plugs have to be disconnected and finally the beam adjuster switch has to be pushed in the rear and popped out of the panel. The rear foglight switch could on the facia panel or on the steering column switch; procedures for removal and refitting are very similar in both cases. To remove the blower motor switch, one has to get at it from the back of the heater control panel. For the audio remote control switch, it is necessary to take of the shroud, pull out the wiring plug, and then take out the switch nearer to you. The components of electric window switches are delicate and need the technician to pry out the switch panel from the door, unveiled the wiring plugs, and demoding the switch from its trim piece. Centre console switches are common; hence, their removal and refitting procedures are standard. For main door courtesy light switches, open the relevant door, unscrew the switch then pull it out to disconnect it, and this process will make the wiring plug come off the terminals, be sure not to let the wiring drop back into the switch aperture during the process.

Do NOT attempt to remove the key lock cylinder with the switch installed, as its spring-loaded plunger will break off if forced out without removing the switch.
