For T100 models, use an ohmmeter to check the continuity of the switch terminals: in the MIST position, continuity should exist between terminals 4 and 8; in the OFF position, between terminals 7 and 8; in the LO position, between terminals 4 and 8; and in the HI position, between terminals 4 and 9. For the intermittent-type wiper switch, continuity should be between terminals 7 and 8 in both the OFF and INT positions, between terminals 4 and 8 in the LO position, and between terminals 4 and 9 in the HI position. To check the washer switch, ensure there is no continuity in the OFF position and continuity between terminals 1 and 2 in the ON position. If the switch does not operate, it should be replaced. For Tacoma and 4Runner models, check the continuity of the switch terminals similarly, with specific terminal continuity requirements for both mist-type and intermittent-type wiper switches, as well as the rear wiper switch. Verify continuity between terminals 2 and 11 for the washer switch in the ON position, and replace if it does not operate. Detach the windshield wiper switch from the switch body and reinstall by reversing the removal process, ensuring the spiral cable is correctly centered before reinstalling the steering wheel.
