Toyota 81170-52300 Driver Side Headlight Unit Assembly

1. Remove the front bumper. 2. Remove the two headlight securing screws on the top of the unit, and lift the mountings to release them from the front panel. 3. Using a screwdriver, prise up the retaining tab at the front lower corner of the light unit to release it. 4. Pull the unit forwards slightly to disconnect the outer rear securing clip. 5. Slide the unit forwards, then disconnect the four wiring connectors from the back of the headlight - three bulbholders and one adjustment motor - and remove it. 6. Note that if the headlight is damaged, the lens can be unclipped (six clips in total) and a new one fitted. Check the condition of the seal fitted between the lens and the light unit. 7. Refitting is a reversal of removal.

The headlights can be finely adjusted by rotating the adjuster screws fitted to the rear of each light unit. The vertical adjustment screw is mounted at the outer end of the headlight, while the horizontal adjustment screw is mounted at the inner end of the headlight.
