- A:To remove the air conditioning/heater unit, first have the refrigerant recovered and disconnect the battery. Drain the cooling system and disconnect the heater hoses and refrigerant lines at the firewall. Remove the instrument panel, PCM, air conditioning amplifier module, and various ducts and brackets. Disconnect wiring harnesses and ground straps, then remove the reinforcement brace and the air conditioning/heater unit from the passenger compartment. Finally, remove the heater core from the underside of the housing. To install, reverse the removal steps and refill the cooling system, reconnect the battery, and check for leaks and proper system operation.Posted by ToyotaPartsDeal Specialist
