    Q:
How do you remove the air conditioning unit? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the air conditioning unit, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the auxiliary 12-volt battery and removing the wiper arms. Then, remove the rubber cowl top weatherstrip and lift out the two louvered cowl top covers. Remove the wiper motor, ABS relay wiring block, and wiper motor wiring harness. Unbolt and remove the outer front cowl top panel. Drain the engine coolant and disconnect the two air conditioning lines near the firewall, using a special tool to release the lock. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the lines at the firewall. Remove the entire instrument panel assembly along with its lower brace, followed by the blower unit, defroster duct, and lower air duct. Disconnect the connectors, remove the nuts, and lift out the air conditioning unit. On a workbench, remove the lower air ducts, thermistor, and expansion valve. Remove the electric heaters, drain hose, aspirator, and hose. Remove the cover from the heater coolant tubes and slide out the heater core. For installation, reverse the removal steps, refill the cooling system, and check for leaks and proper system operation. The air conditioning system should be charged and leak tested at a service facility.
