    Q:
How Do You Check and Replace the PCV Valve and Hose on 2002 through 2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
The PCV valve and hose are in the valve cover. Disconnect the hose and remove the valve for testing. Test for vacuum at the valve opening while the engine idles. If there's no vacuum, check for a blocked hose or valve and replace if necessary. Blow through the PCV valve from the cylinder head end. If air doesn't pass, replace the valve. Ensure a new valve matches your vehicle and engine size.

How to check the PCV valve and hose on Toyota Sienna? Posted by Customer
    A:
To test the PCV valve, detach the hose, remove the valve, and then reconnect. Inspect for vacuum at the valve opening while the engine is idling. Also, if there's no vacuum, inspect for a clogged hose or valve and replace it. Detach the valve, and blow through it from the cylinder head end. If air doesn't pass, you should replace the valve.

    Q:
Does the PCV system require regular maintenance for the 2003 Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
While there's no fixed maintenance interval, the PCV system's efficiency can decrease over time due to sludge buildup within the PCV valve and hoses. This buildup might result in leaking seals, impacting overall system performance.

    Q:
I have an '01 Highlander 3.0L v6 1MZ-FE. I understand the rear(or RH) valve cover has been updated to a newer version that also entails a different PCV valve( part # 12204-20040 I believe). I will be replacing the rear cover and apparently the newer PCV valve. My question is about the PCV valve to intake manifold hose. Is there a different hose that is needed also? The original black plastic valve has a 90 degree elbow on it, and it looks like the newer replacement has no elbow on it. I will more than likely be getting the parts from you since you definitely have the lowest prices of anyone I see, along with a valve cover gasket and whatever else I may need.
