The windshield wiper and blade combination are to be checked for damage, loose parts, cracked or worn blades. Wiper blades can get a coat of dirt on them, which affects their performance, hence they must be cleaned with mild detergent solution. The motion of the wiping system can cause nuts, bolts and fasteners to become loose so that they should be inspected and tightened at the same time as the wiper blades. If the blade elements have cracks, are gone out of shape or no longer do their job properly, then these should be replaced with new ones. Lift the wiper arm assembly off of the glass surface and then flip up tab to release the windshield wiper frame assembly from wiper arm. Squeeze the end of the windshield wiper element out of its frame. Inserted into either end of a new element without slits is this frame's end. At last work the rubber along blade frame slot until cutouts catch on the wiper frame claw.

Lift the wiper arm assembly off of the glass surface and then flip up tab to release the windshield wiper frame assembly from wiper arm. Squeeze the end of the windshield wiper element out of its frame. Inserted into either end of a new element without slits is this frame's end. At last work the rubber along blade frame slot until cutouts catch on the wiper frame claw.
