How to remove and install the front stabilizer bar and bushing on Toyota Corolla?

This procedure is possible for a new mechanic, as the fully assembled engine/transaxle must be supported from above, using a hoist or support fixture, while several bolts must be removed and the crossmember lowered down. Start to remove the front wheel lug nuts on your car, then, jack up and support your car with a jackstand firmly. Park the vehicle and turn off the engine, set the parking brake leg and secure the rear wheels by putting chocks. Both sides have to have the front wheels removed, then depending on the model the sway bar link will have to be disconnected from the bar or strut. Lower the vehicle and disconnect the steering shaft pinch bolt, Start to support the engine/transaxle assembly from above. Subsequently, unbolt mounting brackets at the engine/transaxle, and subframe/crossmember from the chassis and also, to access the sway bar clamps, the crossmember needs to be lowered using a floor jack. Remove the sway bar bushing clamps and take out the sway bar and check for retainer bushing wear; if worn, fit a new one. Thoroughly scrub the bushing area of the sway bar with a wire brush. To install, simply grasp the olive-shaped receiving-bushing and before inserting it into the BB hole, apply vegetable oil, do not use petroleum products. Reassemble by proceeding the removal steps in reverse order while fastening all the bolts and screws in the tightening sequence and the recommended torque. When installing the subframe, it should be aligned with the help of a rod of the bolts diameter before nuts' tightening. Lastly, fit the wheels and lugs, drop the car, and then finally and them tighten up the lug nuts till the right torque on the front wheel alignment is checked.

Subsequently, unbolt mounting brackets at the engine/transaxle, and subframe/crossmember from the chassis and also, to access the sway bar clamps, the crossmember needs to be lowered using a floor jack. Remove the sway bar bushing clamps and take out the sway bar and check for retainer bushing wear; if worn, fit a new one. Thoroughly scrub the bushing area of the sway bar with a wire brush. To install, simply grasp the olive-shaped receiving-bushing and before inserting it into the BB hole, apply vegetable oil, do not use petroleum products. Reassemble by proceeding the removal steps in reverse order while fastening all the bolts and screws in the tightening sequence and the recommended torque. When installing the subframe, it should be aligned with the help of a rod of the bolts diameter before nuts' tightening. Lastly, fit the wheels and lugs, drop the car, and then finally and them tighten up the lug nuts till the right torque on the front wheel alignment is checked.
