A: Before you start loosening the tie-rod, insert the wheel lug nuts, lift the front end of the car, and place it on jackstands, also, for safety block the rear wheels and put the parking brake on and finally, take out the front wheel. Next, remove the cotter pin from the castle nut of the tie-rod end, and partly undo the nut to the stud without removing the nut entirely. After that, it is necessary to lock the tie-rod using the locking pliers or wrench and then, using a touch only this nut, you need to identify the position of the tie-rod end in relation to the threaded part. Remove the nut of the tie-rod and pull the tie-rod with the help of a puller from the steering knuckle arm. Remove the nut from both the tie-rod and the tie-rod end. For installation, pass this tie-rod end to the marked position and pass the tie-rod stud through the steering knuckle arm and simply tightening the jam nut. Place the castle nut on the stud and tighten to the required torque that has to be specified and then fix a new cotter pin in the correct position working with the help of the hole which is in the nut and the hole has to align with any one of the slot present in the nut. Lastly replace the wheel and nuts, drop the vehicle, and impose the necessary force on the nuts, and then check the alignment as per the standard rectify if there is any.
