Before disconnecting the tie-rod, it will be necessary to loosen the wheel lugs, raise the car's front, securely jacked-up and then block the rear wheels before finally removing the front wheel to have a proper angle at the tie-rod. Next, unbolt the cotter pin and then turn the nut on the tie-rod end stud until loose but do not remove the nut. Now using locking-pliers or wrench keep applying pressure on the tie-rod while turning the nut just enough to scratch the aluminum facing of the tie-rod in relation to the nut-thread. Use a puller to separate the knuckle arm from the tie rod, remove the associated nut, and finally, separate the tie--rod. Remove the nut and washer from the tie-rod and take off the tie-rod end. For installation, put the tie-rod end at the position marked and thread the tie-rod stud through the steering knuckle arm then tighten the jam nut. Screw the castle nut over the stud and turn it on the thread until it is as tight as it can be then place a new cotter pin and take care to have its hole lined up with one of the slots in the nut. Last, set the wheel and the lug nuts, jack down the vehicle, torque the lug nuts and check the alignment and adjust it, if required.

Install the castle nut on the stud and tighten it to the specified torque. Install a new cotter pin. If the hole for the cotter pin doesn't line up with one of the slots in the nut, turn the nut an additional amount until it does.
