Toyota Land Cruiser Turn Signal Flasher Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to troubleshoot and replace a turn signal/hazard flasher unit on Toyota Land Cruiser?
A: The turn signal & hazardous flasher is enclosed in a cylindrical shaped box at the relay area near the steering column. Normally, the Flasher unit will produce a clicking sound when it is functioning or working as it should. If the turn signals are on one side, and the flasher does not click, then it is most probably that the turn signal bulb is bad. If both the turn signals do not blink then the causes could be a bad or blower Fuse, the flasher unit is bad, bad switch, or loose or open connection. It is also possible to get to the turn signal fuse and see that it has blown, at the same time, it is recommended to check for the short in the wiring before replacing the turned off fuse. To replace the flasher, all one has to do is remove the flasher from the relay panel and install a new flasher provided that it is of the same make and model as the flasher that was removed as one can easily check this by comparing the two before fixing. The process of installation is just the opposite to the process of removal described above.
