- Q: How do you disconnect the oxygen sensor from the exhaust manifold on Toyota MR2?A: To disconnect the oxygen sensor from the exhaust manifold, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Then, raise the vehicle and securely place it on jackstands. Before raising the vehicle, unplug the electrical connector between the oxygen sensor pigtail and the engine compartment wire harness. This connector is a round, yellow connector located below and in front of the distributor. Once the connector is unplugged, carefully remove the oxygen sensor from the exhaust manifold.
