How to remove and refit the steering wheel on Toyota Yaris?

With the steering wheel, unplug the battery negative terminal and put it aside then wait for at least 2 minutes for the airbag to reset. Thirdly, pop out the air bag unit from the steering wheel and remove the small earth wire located at the upper end of the wheel. Make sure the front wheels are parallel to each other and apply the steering lock if there is any. Confirm that the wheel is not turning it by tightly gripping the steering wheel then loose the retaining nut sans relying on the steering wheel lock as it may be damaged. Place the cover and hold the wheel on each side and pull it off the splines; if it is still hard to do this, you can use the two threaded holes, which are available on the wheel hub to use a puller or you can also create a puller by using a thick metal strip with two holes which is drilled at a short distance apart and two short bolts passing through the holes and use them to pull the wheel off while protecting When refitting, make sure that both the front wheels of the car are in line, then place the steering wheel back on the column and fasten it with the nut by over-tightening to a standard torque without the steering column lock. The rest of the refitting process is the reverse sequence of removing process, and this refitting process is ended by the installation of airbag unit.
