To detach the wiper arm, start the wiper motor then turn it off to give the wiper arm some time to droop to its 'park' position. Next, remove the wiper arm spindle nut cover, then unbolt the nut and free the spindle with reference to the procedure involving raising the tailgate wiper arm cover for better access to the nut. Raise the blade off the glass and remove the wiper arm from the spindle-loose, yet in some cases very tightly fitted on the splines of the latter. In such circumstances a flat bladed screwdriver can be used to gently pry the arm off, while being careful not to to destroy the scuttle cover panel, and in the worst case a little puller may be needed. For refitting, the wiper arm and splines ought to be clean ad dry before refitting the arm of the spindle in a manner that the wiper blade lies on the tape if was used during removal. Last but not the least, tighten the spindle nut as far as it can go then put back the nut cover back into its place.
