To reassemble the strut and spring assembly: If replacing the lower insulator, set it into position with the dropped portion seated in the lowest part of the seat. Extend the damper rod and install the rubber bumper. Place the coil spring onto the lower insulator, ensuring the end fits into the recessed portion of the lower seat. Install the upper insulator and spring seat, aligning the flats on the damper shaft with the flats in the spring seat. Align the "OUT" mark on the upper spring seat with the mark on the upper insulator. For front struts, ensure the arrow on the spring seat faces toward the lower bracket. For rear struts, position the suspension support with the pointed part facing out and the hole centered on the strut bracket. Install the dust seal and suspension support to the damper shaft. Install the nut and tighten it to the specified torque. Remove the spring compressor tool. Finally, install the strut spring assembly.

Check the lower insulator for wear, cracking, and hardness, and replace it if necessary.

For vehicles equipped with ABS, the following additional steps are necessary: Detach the speed sensor wiring harness from the strut by removing the clamp bracket bolt.

Lower the axle carrier with the jack and remove the two strut-to-axle carrier bolts.

If the vehicle is equipped with ABS and electronic modulated suspension, the brake hose should be detached from the strut and the shock absorber wiring harness should be disconnected.

Be careful not to overextend the inner CV joint and ensure the steering knuckle does not fall outward, as this could damage the brake hose.
