For transaxle mount replacement, you can follow a similar procedure to engine mount replacement. The key steps involve supporting the transaxle and removing and installing the transaxle mount using appropriate fasteners and thread locking compound. Ensure that the transaxle mount is securely attached to prevent driveline issues.

To remove the engine movement control rod assembly in V6 models, you need to take out the two through-bolts and the engine movement control rod.

The rear mount bracket cradles the insulator, which is retained by a through-bolt to the chassis bracket. To remove the rear engine mount, remove the through-bolt, then the insulator bolts.

To remove an engine mount, remove the fasteners, raise the engine, and detach the mount. The engine can be raised with an engine hoist or with a floor jack and wood block placed under the oil pan. Note: Even if only one mount is being replaced, remove the mount-to-engine bracket nut from the other mount to allow the engine to be raised far enough for mount removal.

V6 models have a shock absorbing mount, which is mounted between the engine and chassis. It is located to the left of the conventional front engine mount.

To check the engine mounts, you should raise the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Position a jack under the engine oil pan and place a large block of wood between the jack head and the oil pan. Raise the engine slightly to remove the weight from the mounts. Do not position the wood block under the drain plug. Then, visually inspect the mounts for signs of damage and use a large screwdriver or pry bar to check for any movement. If movement is observed, lower the engine and tighten the mount fasteners. Applying rubber preservative to the mounts can help slow down deterioration.
