Various exterior lights are the parking/front sidemarker light bulbs which are installed in the outer, upper smaller recess area of the headlights; to replace, twist the socket of the bulb anti-clockwise and pull. Pull the bulb straight out to remove it from the socket and push it in until no further until to insert a new bulb. When you are screwed the new socket, position the arrow of the socket to the dot on the headlight housing. Front turn signal and fog light bulbs are-mount end on the bumper cover and since they're not enclosed they can be changed without having to lift the car. For the front turn signal bulb: rotary the socket as in the counter clockwise direction to unlock it from the vehicle's body, extract the bulb out, and introduce a new one into the until it becomes locked into its place. Before inserting the reference pins of the socket base, make sure that the lugs are properly aligned to the cutouts. Regarding the fog light bulbs, to change you have to pull the electrical connector, unscrew the socket using anticlockwise direction and then the steps are similar. To replace bulbs for the rear turn signal, brake/taillight, rear sidemarker, and back-up, there is a small door must be opened, the socket needs to be rotated in a counter clockwise direction then new bulb need to be installed by simply pushing the bulb straight in. License plate light bulbs can be replaced by first unscrewing the lens to reveal the light bulb which is then merely pulled straight out; the same applies conversely for installation. The center high-mounted brake light bulb calls for the lens to be popped off, followed by turning the socket in an anti-clockwise direction to uninstall it, and further following the bulb replacement process. For interior light bulbs like the dome lights, map lights, and door courtesy lights, remove the lens gently, unclip or REMOVE the old bulb and replace with a new one. If you have turn signal indicator bulbs, those require pulling the instrument cluster bezel using a flat-head screwdriver; the next step is twisting the socket in the counterclockwise direction to unlock it and further procedure is same to install it. Hazard flasher switch and power back window switch bulbs can be replaced by pulling the center trim panel, and then unscrewing the old bulb in a counterclockwise manner and make sure that the bulb is well screwed clockwise when a new one is put in its place. For heater and air conditioning control assembly bulbs, first, remove the assembly and then look for the bulb you want to replace and follow the same process followed when replacing the hazard flasher switch bulbs.

Whenever a bulb is renewed, disconnect the battery negative lead before starting work, and remember that if the light has just been in use, the bulb may be extremely hot. Always check the bulb contacts and holder, ensuring clean metal-to-metal contact between the bulb and its live(s) and earth, cleaning off any corrosion or dirt before fitting a new bulb. For bayonet-type bulbs, ensure that the live contact(s) bear firmly against the bulb contact. Always ensure that the new bulb is of the correct rating and completely clean before fitting it, particularly for headlight and foglight bulbs. Access to the headlight bulbholders may be limited, and it may be helpful to remove the battery or at least the top clamp to improve access. Pull the wiring plug from the rear of the bulb, then remove the rubber cover. Release the bulb's wire retaining clip, pivot it down, and withdraw the bulb. When handling the new bulb, use a tissue or clean cloth to avoid touching the glass with fingers, as moisture and grease can cause blackening and rapid failure; if touched, wipe it clean with methylated spirit. Install the new bulb, ensuring its locating tabs are correctly seated, and secure it with the spring clip. Refit the rubber cover, ensuring a good seal, and reconnect the wiring plug. For the front sidelight, disconnect the wiring plug, twist the bulbholder anti-clockwise, and pull it from the rear of the headlight. Pull out the wedge-base bulb and fit a new one firmly into place, then re-secure the bulbholder. For the front direction indicator light, turn the steering wheel for better access, remove screws and clips securing the wheel arch liner, disconnect the wiring plug, twist the bulbholder anti-clockwise, and remove the bulb. Fit the new bulb, twist the bulbholder clockwise, and re-secure the wheel arch liner screws. For the front foglight, follow similar steps to gain access, disconnect the wiring plug, and twist the bulb anti-clockwise to remove it. Handle the new bulb carefully, fit it, reconnect the wiring plug, and re-secure the wheel arch liner screws. For the indicator side repeater light, slide the light unit forward against its internal spring clip, unhook its rear edge, withdraw the light unit, and disconnect the wiring plug. The bulb is not available separately, so a new light unit must be obtained if it fails. Refitting is a reversal of removal. For rear lights, open the tailgate, unclip the trim panel, twist the required bulbholder anti-clockwise to remove it, and replace any bayonet-fitting bulbs by pressing and turning them anti-clockwise. Fit the new bulb(s), clip the bulbholder back onto the light unit, and reclip the trim panel. For the number plate light, prise it from the bumper with a small screwdriver, twist the bulbholder anti-clockwise, pull out the wedge-base bulb, and press a new one into place. Refitting is a reversal of removal. For the high-level stop-light, open the tailgate, unclip the cover, remove the mounting bolt, withdraw the light, twist the bulbholder anti-clockwise, and replace the bulb by pulling the old one out and pressing in a new one. Refitting is a reversal of removal.

Make sure that the three lugs on the mounting base of the bulb socket are aligned with their corresponding cutouts in the headlight housing.

Unplug the electrical connector from the headlight bulb holder. On T100 models, rotate the plastic bulb holder cover counterclockwise and remove it.

For Lexus and Sciara models, you will need to remove the headlight housing screws and pull the housing out to access the bulb connections.

The park/turn signal lights and side marker lights are part of the headlight housing.

Raise the vehicle, remove the front wheels and inner fender covers, and twist the bulb holder from the housing.

Install the new bulb, ensuring that its locating tabs are correctly seated in the light cut-outs, and secure it with the spring clip.

When replacing the bulbs, you should be careful not to touch the bulb with your fingers. If you do, clean it with rubbing alcohol as the oil from your skin can cause the bulb to overheat and fail.

Map reading light and dome light bulbs.

Grasp the bulb holder securely and rotate it counterclockwise to remove it from the housing. Disconnect the electrical connector, then twist the bulb holder counterclockwise and pull the holder out.

The inner headlight bulbs are the high-beam bulbs, while the outer bulbs are the low-beam bulbs. The low-beam bulbs are also illuminated when the high-beam bulbs are turned on.

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Plug in the electrical connector.

Disconnect the heating element or the blind spot monitor connector.

2018 and later Sequoia models and some 2018 and later Tundra models use LED headlights and are not serviceable.

1. Detach the dome light lens. 2. Grasp the bulb securely and detach it from the spring clips at each end. 3. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Remove the tailgate trim panels.

Open the hood and reach behind the headlight assembly to unplug the electrical connector. Note: If you're removing the left-side headlight, remove the fresh-air intake duct.

Grasp the bulb holder securely and rotate it counterclockwise to remove it from the housing.
