Toyota Prius Fog Light Bulb Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace park/turn signal light bulb and fog light bulb on Toyota Prius?
A: The park/turn signal lights and side marker lights are part of the Headlight housing, accessible from behind it, though removal of the housing may be necessary for easier access. To replace the bulbs, rotate the bulb holder counterclockwise and pull the bulb out; the front turn signal bulbs can be removed easily by turning them counter-clockwise. For some models, the side marker light is a separate unit accessed from underneath the fender. The rear taillight, brake, turn signal, and side marker bulbs can be accessed by removing access panels in the luggage compartment, with the bulbs removed by rotating the holders counterclockwise. Backup lights in the tailgate require opening a cover on the inside of the tailgate to access the bulb holder. For the center high-mounted stop light on 2009 and earlier models, remove the fasteners securing the assembly, pull it out, disconnect the electrical connector, and remove it. The interior light housing can be pried out carefully, and the bulb detached from the terminals, ensuring to pry only on the ends to avoid shattering the glass. For license plate lights, 2009 and earlier models require removal of the tailgate trim panels, while 2010 and later models involve removing the lens mounting screw and pulling the light assembly out before replacing the bulb. Fog light replacement involves raising the vehicle, removing the splash shield from beneath the front bumper cover, twisting the bulb holder from the housing, and replacing the bulb. Installation for all components follows the reverse order of removal.
