Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the drive belt, loosen the right front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jack stands. Remove the right front wheel and the splash shield from the wheel well. Remove the bolt from the front of the crankshaft, likely using a breaker bar as the bolt is very tight. A puller base and several spacers can be mounted to the center hub of the pulley to prevent the crankshaft from turning as the pulley retaining bolt is loosened. Install the socket over the crankshaft bolt head before installing the puller, then insert the extension through the puller's center hole. Using a puller that bolts to the crankshaft hub, remove the crankshaft pulley from the crankshaft, ensuring to use the proper adapter between the puller screw and the nose of the crankshaft. Caution should be taken to avoid using a jaw-type puller as it will damage the pulley/damper assembly. Depending on the puller type, it may be necessary to support the engine from above, remove the right side engine mount, and lower the engine to gain clearance for the puller. Slide the pulley onto the crankshaft, ensuring the slot in the hub aligns with the Woodruff key in the end of the crankshaft, and use the crankshaft bolt to press the pulley into position. Tighten the crankshaft bolt to the appropriate torque, and complete the remainder of the installation by reversing the removal steps.

Depending on the type of puller you have, it may be necessary to support the engine from above, remove the right side engine mount, and lower the engine to gain sufficient clearance to use the puller.
